Mary Zheng is a first-generation Chinese American writer. A former AmeriCorps and Peace Corps volunteer, for now she lives in Philadelphia where she works as an emergency department social worker. She is currently working on a book about her year solo hitchhiking and busking around the Mediterranean without a single plan other than learning to trust in this world--a time when she broke bread with refugees and anarchists alike in an attempt to understand what it means to be human.
